This Portuguese bracelet made with gold-plated Viana beads in silver is a traditional piece of Portuguese jewelry and a symbol of good luck in love. Each Viana bead captures the light, while the bracelet follows the movement of the wrist, remaining discreet and natural. It pairs just as beautifully with a casual outfit as with a more refined silhouette.

Composed of 13 solid 925 silver beads, this bracelet is entirely handcrafted by the last silversmiths working in a small workshop in northern Portugal, near Porto. It reinterprets an ancient symbol with a clearly modern feel.

Why I love it

  • The romantic symbolism of the Viana bead.

More informations?

Viana beads are traditional pieces of jewelry from the Minho region in northern Portugal and are a symbol of good luck in love.

The first bead was traditionally given by a godmother to her goddaughter at birth. It was threaded onto a cotton bracelet or necklace. Over time, young girls received additional beads that were added to the first one. Then, on their wedding day, they wore their necklace or bracelet of Viana beads as a symbol of happiness and good fortune.
