With its impressive 40cm (15.7'') length, this large ceramic lizard instantly becomes the focal point of any space. A true handcrafted decorative piece, it immediately evokes the warmth of a sunlit white wall and the vibrant atmosphere so characteristic of Portuguese homes.

Captured as if frozen mid-motion, it stretches, crawls and catches the light from every angle. Its remarkable size allows it to transform an entire wall, terrace, patio or large bookshelf on its own. It naturally draws attention while adding depth, texture and personality to both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Crafted in the tradition of Caldas da Rainha ceramics, inspired by the iconic creations of Bordallo Pinheiro, this lizard showcases exceptional artisanal craftsmanship. The expressive volumes, finely detailed texture and rich natural colours are enhanced by a glossy glaze that beautifully reflects the light and highlights every detail.

Each piece features slight variations that reflect its authentic handmade production. Far from a standard decorative object, this is a large-scale artisan creation full of character, designed to bring walls, terraces and living spaces to life.

    More informations?

This piece comes from a small workshop located in the Centre-West region of Portugal, in the province of Estremadura. Its design is characteristic of what is known as Caldas da Rainha ceramics, whose most famous artist remains Bordallo Pinheiro.

The moulds used in this workshop have been passed down from generation to generation, and the current owner still works today with the moulds once used by his grandfather. Every piece is carefully handcrafted by hand, and production remains extremely limited.
