Horus is one of the most famous paintings by the Portuguese painter Nadir Afonso. Painted in 1953, it is representative of the "pre-geometric" and "Baroque" period of the early 1950s. Architect, painter but also collector, Nadir Afonso is one of the most renowned contemporary Portuguese artists. His works can be found in museums in Porto and Lisbon, of course, but also in Paris, Berlin, Sao Paulo and now in a museum dedicated to him in Porto.
