More informations?

Viana beads are traditional pieces of jewelry from the Minho region in northern Portugal and symbolize good luck in love.

The first bead was traditionally offered by a godmother to her goddaughter at birth. It was threaded onto a cotton bracelet or necklace. Over time, young girls received additional beads that were added to the first one. Then, on their wedding day, they wore their necklace or bracelet of Viana beads as a symbol of happiness and good fortune.
