In 1930, Fernando da Silva Ferreira began his professional career as an employee in a Portuguese canning factory. His entrepreneurial spirit quickly led him to acquire a one-third stake in the company where he worked.
By 1942, he had renamed the company Conserveira de Lisboa and continued to develop the cannery throughout the 1970s. Minor had by then become a brand deeply embedded in the daily lives of the Portuguese.
In 1988, Fernando da Silva Ferreira decided it was time to retire, and his son, Armando José Cabral Ferreira, naturally took over.
In 2004, his children, Tiago Ferreira and Maria Manuel Ferreira, became the fourth generation of the family to lead the cannery forward.
From 1942 to today, Minor has remained a traditional brand that has never feared modernity while preserving the key elements of its success: unique flavors, authentic ingredients, and uncompromising quality.
