More informations?

When you choose a piece from this remarkable collection, you acquire a handcrafted object made from red clay and shaped by the hands of José Alves, one of the last Portuguese potters to fully master the traditional potter’s wheel.

This family pottery workshop, whose roots trace back to his great-great-grandfather, still operates from the same location today. "I thought the continuity of our workshop was at risk, but one of my daughters joined me and brought a touch of innovation through her artistic hand-painted decorations," he explains with emotion.

Red clay, known in Portugal as "Olaria de barro vermelho", is particularly suited to functional tableware and traditional cooking. "In a terracotta pot, meat becomes exceptionally tender," says José Alves, sharing both his expertise and his passion for his craft.
