The Herdade do Arrepiado Velho vineyard is located in Sousel, about 40 kilometers from Portalegre, in Alto Alentejo. This vineyard was acquired in 2002 by the Antunes family, who launched an ambitious project: to make Arrepiado Velho an asset and a reference of excellence in Alentejo.

33 hectares were planted from scratch, in a terroir that rarely combines schist soils with steep slopes, mild temperatures and abundant water, natural characteristics that indicate great potential.

David Booth, head of viticulture, and enologist António Maçanita combined their knowledge, innovation and dedication and selected the red grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot and the white grape varieties: Antão Vaz, Chardonnay, Viognier, Verdelho and Riesling.

The existing winery has been equipped with the most advanced technology and is duly sized for the current production of unique and seductive wines, born of modern oenology but sublimely combined with respect for tradition.
