Giant white ceramic swallow crafted in the tradition of Caldas da Rainha and its illustrious inventor: Bordallo Pinheiro. This swallow is hollowed out to reduce its weight and has two holes, making it easy to fix to a wall or place flat on a piece of furniture.

The swallow (Andorinha) is today an icon of national folklore and an object present in every Portuguese home. It is used both outdoors on a facade and indoors on a wall.

This swallow comes from a small workshop located between Caldas da Rainha and Obidos in the Central-West of Portugal, in the province of Estremadura. The molds used there have been passed down from generation to generation, and the workshop owner now uses his grandfather's molds. All pieces are entirely handmade.
