Beautiful ceramic box with a decoration in the spirit of the very first Moorish or Spanish inspired azulejos.
Make no mistake, this box with an Azulejo lid is not an industrially printed earthenware object that you find in souvenir shops.
This box, enamelled on its outer sides, is handcrafted using traditional Portuguese Azulejo manufacturing methods and entirely hand-painted.
It is made in a small arts and crafts workshop by Amélia and José Alves de Sá Nogueira, a passionate couple, among the best Portuguese ceramists, who work for museums and palaces in Portugal.
