Make no mistake, this Azulejo-lidded box is not an industrially printed earthenware object that you find in souvenir shops.
This box, enamelled on its outer surfaces, is handcrafted according to traditional Portuguese Azulejo manufacturing methods and entirely hand-painted.
It is made in a small arts and crafts workshop by Amélia and José Alves de Sá Nogueira, a passionate couple, among the best Portuguese ceramists who work for museums and palaces in Portugal.
