Inspired by the traditional jewellery of northern Portugal, this golden necklace reinterprets the elegance of Viana do Castelo adornments in a delicate, contemporary form. Its finely worked small beads, linked by subtle golden rings, recall the refinement of Portuguese jewellery passed down from generation to generation.

Each bead reveals delicate raised motifs that catch the light and give the necklace its distinctive character. With its 44cm (17.3'') length, it sits naturally at the base of the neck and subtly highlights the neckline. The alternating beads and rings bring a sense of lightness to the design while preserving the spirit of traditional Minho jewellery.

Timeless and easy to wear, this necklace works equally well with a white shirt, an elegant dress or a more casual outfit. A refined way to bring a touch of Portuguese tradition into everyday life, from a region where golden jewellery holds a particularly meaningful place.

More informations?

Viana beads are traditional pieces of jewellery from the Minho region in northern Portugal and are regarded as a symbol of good fortune in love.

The first bead was traditionally given by a godmother to her goddaughter at birth and threaded onto a cotton bracelet or necklace. Over time, young girls would receive additional beads to join the first. On their wedding day, they would wear their Viana bead necklace or bracelet as a symbol of happiness and good fortune.
