This 15cm ceramic plate celebrates one of Portugal’s most familiar symbols: the sardine. Five fish drawn in black stand out against an ivory background in a deliberately simple, graphic composition, framed by a fine dark outline.

The decoration is created in several stages: the sardine motifs are applied using ceramic transfers to reproduce the details of the drawing with precision, then selected finishes are completed by hand with a brush. This process combines the clarity of the design with the visible presence of artisanal craftsmanship.

With its 15cm (5.9'') diameter, this plate is ideal for bread or butter at the table, olives and nuts for aperitifs, tapas, small desserts, biscuits, petits fours, lemon wedges, or small portions of cheese and charcuterie. It also works very well as a saucer beneath a bowl or cup, or simply on its own as a small decorative plate.

Why I love it

  • The highly detailed sardine illustration, almost like a vintage drawing.
  • The versatile 15cm (5.9'') size, ideal for bread at the table or aperitifs.
