A pretty little ceramic bowl in the shape of a poppy, ideal for presenting a dessert or appetizer. Its design is characteristic of Caldas da Rainha ceramics, whose most famous creator is Bordallo Pinheiro.

It boasts exceptional quality and meticulous attention to detail. The reliefs and details are precise, the surface is perfect and very luminous, and the colors are brilliant.

Why I love it

  • An original, traditional and surprisingly modern bowl.

More informations ?

This piece comes from a small workshop in central-western Portugal, in the province of Estremadura. Its design is characteristic of Caldas da Rainha ceramics, whose most famous creator is Bordallo Pinheiro.

The molds used in this workshop have been handed down from generation to generation, and the current owner uses his grandfather's molds. All pieces are carefully handcrafted and production is very limited.

    Beautiful Popy Bowl

We had purchased 4 bowls while we were in Portugal. We wanted 4 more after we were back home in the USA. I searched for the name on the bottom of the bowls and found the same ones from the artist. I ordered them and they were shipped promptly. Each was carefully packaged separately and the entire shipment was carefully packaged. I would highly recommend these as a colorful addition to your table.
