The Mantas de Mira de Aire are traditional Portuguese throws originating from the region of Porto de Mós, near the Mira de Aire caves in central Portugal. They are known for their unique geometric patterns—often waves, chevrons, or diamonds—and for their thick, heavy, highly durable weave.

Their production dates back several centuries and reflects the traditional hand-weaving techniques of rural Portugal. These blankets were designed to withstand harsh winters: dense, warm, and incredibly robust. The looms used are wooden, operated by hand or foot, following techniques passed down through generations.
