Beautiful replica of an authentic 18th-century Portuguese azulejo. This piece is made from genuine clay, glazed on one side and handcrafted using the traditional techniques once used to create Portuguese azulejos. Entirely hand-painted, it reproduces the delicate historical brushwork that gives these tiles their rich and subtle shades of blue.
A refined decorative object, this azulejo can be used as a paperweight, coaster or trivet. It can also be framed or mounted as part of a wall panel by removing the cork layer covering the back.
Why I love it
- A hand-moulded and hand-painted azulejo crafted just like in the 18th century.
- The delicate painter’s touch that makes every tile unique.

Characteristics
- Dimensions: 14 x 14 cm (5.5'' x 5.5'')
- Weight: 350 g
- 1 glazed side + 1 cork-covered side
More informations?
"Figura Avulsa" azulejos appeared in Portugal at the end of the 17th century, gradually replacing patterned tiles that had become outdated. They are recognised for their cobalt blue colour inspired by Chinese porcelain imported by the Dutch, and for their motifs drawn from nature, plants, animals and everyday faces observed by the painter.
